Mysore Home for the Homeless

A home for those who have none.

A registered charitable trust in Mysuru. We give abandoned and destitute elderly people a bed, three meals, medical care, and company, entirely free of cost.

No one is turned away because they cannot pay.

People reach us in different ways. Some arrive from the street. Some are sent by a hospital with nowhere to discharge them. Some are brought by neighbours, or by families who could no longer cope. A few walk in on their own.

We do not ask which. Everyone is given a bed, three meals, clean clothes, and whatever medical care they need, for as long as they need it, paid for entirely by donations.

What we give, without asking for anything back

The main hall of the home, lined with beds where residents rest

A bed and a roof

A clean bed and a roof that does not leak, with hospital beds and wheelchairs for those who can no longer manage on their own. For many, it is the first safe place they have slept in years.

Food, every day

Three simple, nutritious meals a day, cooked fresh, served with care, and adjusted for anyone who cannot chew or digest easily.

Medical care

Regular check-ups, medicines given on time, and hygiene and dressing for those who cannot manage on their own.

Company, and dignity

Many who come to us have been abandoned by their own families, or have no family left at all. We do not ask why. We simply open the door, and care for them for as long as they need us.
